special night
first set very difficult to find a groove for me, maybe it was the drugs, the poor sound, song selection or the old wasted women grabbing my ass. Either way I was ready to head back to the campsite.
Thank god I didnt. Laid on the ground in the way back far from the crowd and thoroughly melted through the second set. Can't say I saw the stage once for the second set as the clouds above me were putting on quite the show. One of my favorite sets of live music I've ever had played for me. I've listened to this recording over and over since then and this recording is really not choice, but it sure take me back there. I mean shit you can hear all the instruments and the sounds of a blissed out crowd of thousands. Who can complain? Rivertrance is just.. the highlight of the weekend for me.
6****** for performance
6****** for recording because god knows i couldnt have even turned my cell phone on, how you escaped with this recording is a wonder ... THANKS!

Recording not good......but cheese is still fantastic
Crowd noise is some of the worst I’ve heard on a recording. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any other recordings of this show so beggars can’t be choosers! You almost forget about it though, as they start to throw down. The Joker………how funny.
I agree that this and KWI was the highlight of this festival. Trey was being a diva, and Phil Lesh was predictable. That Beneveto Russo stuff was pretty awful, in my opinion. Huge letdown, as we were all looking forward to the Trey & Mike reunion. I could have skipped the last day of the festival and been fine.
What is it w/ 10klf & the sound problems? That happened during 311 a couple of years ago. I still love this festival though. Perfect weather, great camping, best people in the country.
I, for some “strange” reason, do not remember the 2nd set. I think I had fun?? My friends tell me I did. Thanks for posting this so I can hear what I missed. I heard it was sick. I love me some cheese! I have yet to see a bad show.

Heres why.
Just for the record. It was a great show. When in 2006 was cheese not great. To be on that hill watching that band. It made me feel like it was Alpine Valley and 35,000 were screaming for this band. it was a moment with Cheese that ill never get. But First set the speakers werent pointed towards the crowd. They were all facing the campgrounds. The crowd of first set was small. But as the sun went down. The people flooded in. The band came out with Under African Skies, the glowsticks got a crackin, and the rest of the night was pure magic.

Show of the weekend!
I hope that no one listenes to the huge chode neyney77!!! Where you even really there man? Anyone with working ears who was at this show knows neyney77 must be a F'ing idiot!!! The glowsticks...the dancing....the INCREDIBLE music!!! Rivertrance brought me goosebumps too. Howard had me smiling and dancing for a week afterward. One of the best shows of the summer! Did anyone else see the girl on stilts that made her way to like 75 feet from the stage...much respect to her! What a looker too!!

I almost slapped the sound guy
I couldnt beleave how bad the sound was. We all paid alot of money to go to this fest and expected the sound to be done by a perfesional. I couldnt beleave it. The rest of the festival sounded great. I feel really bad for SCI because they put on a good show.

thank God there were other bands
horrible show. worst sci ive ever heard. sound blew, songs uninspired even jelly wasnt that good. i kept waiting for them to blow the roof off never happened. i'll never see them again unless they are with keller. who by the way rocked when it was kwi. check that show out. SCI belonged in the field stage or just as an opening band! main stage to big for them.

wow
This show was mind blowing. Absolutely incredible. Mad props to whoever brought the glowsticks. From the Texas opener all the way through the encore this show was just incredible. Anyone else see Bobby Weir in the crowd during first set. I was dancing my ass off and all of a sudden i looked to my left and he was moving through the crowd with several body guards. Pretty crazy. Thanks so much to the String Cheese guys for this festival highlight.

show
rocccckin show...sound quality, yea a little sketchy set one, but the vibe made up for it. first headliner of the fest, amazing. like was said earlier, keller and the incident helped along the fest. but to say that it woulda sucked without em? i dunno, plenty of other good shows...phil, trey, RRE, everyone orchestra, mutaytor, the duo, hot buttered rum, etc etc etc. not to be a jerk, but cmon, give some credit to other deserving musicians.

What a weekend!!!!
This was the first time I had seen the cheese since 2000 or 2001 if I remember correctly. To tell you the truth I had become a skeptic after they came out with the new style. Well, I can say that I'm now biting my tongue and was totally blown away by the 10k show. What a killer time these guys gave the crowd. Thank you cheese! Thank You!

Sounded fine from the front row...
I was front and center for this show and I remember the sound being fine... I just thought that the people yelling "Turn it up!" just for fun.
as far as things glowing up front... everything was glowing... especially the glo-sticks... they bring those out at the beginning of the second set which made Rivertrance that much better... I had goosebumps when they played Rivertrance...

10klf
sound sucked in the first set, i feel bad for anyone who missed the second set though.. it was sick, great rivertrance, with an awesome howard, and an easy on the ears sometimes a river, and i cant forget about the jellyfish and black clouds like i said a sick set,
just one suggestion for 10klf, get OAR and there fans out of there for next year, other then that it was a good fest, the music was hot

Cheeeeeeeeeeeeese
This show was sweet if you disregard the pa being all messed up...that is the only reason for the 4 stars. Under African Skies was a highlight, as were rivertrance, black clouds and sometimes a river. Basically the whole second set was unbelievable. I was hopinfg they would play Best Feeling, but they hooked it up the next day with Keller. Is this going to be available streaming?
Oh- did anyone else see the glow-in-the-dark sticker shirt guy in the front during the first set? That guy was sweet, and if you stood anywhere near him you had an glowing ocean seascape all around you. Rock on Boys, Thanks for another great night.
